This course is designed to provide participants with a foundational understanding of the various equity derivative products. The features and characteristics, risks, and basic pricing of equity futures, swaps, options, equity-linked notes, warrants and convertibles will be discussed. Basic trading and hedging strategies for portfolio management will be covered.
Course Objectives
By the end of the course, participants will be able to:
- Explain the features and characteristics of equity futures, forwards, swaps, options, convertibles, and warrants
- Identify the risks associated with these various equity derivatives
- Discuss how these products are priced in the market
- Recognize various applications used by traders and portfolio managers for speculation and hedging
