Description

This course introduces the course participants to the world of technical analysis. The course begins with a look at the different types of charts and how a chart is constructed. The basics of trends are introduced and their importance for determining the big picture is discussed. The different chart patterns are investigated and examined. Moving averages are explored along with the different oscillators. How a trader manages their position using technical analysis is explored.

  • Discuss the main philosophies for bar charts, candle stick and point and figure charts
  • Interpret major and continuation patterns
  • Explain the role volume and open interest plays

  • Discuss the importance of fanlines and speedlines
  • Identify and apply different price gaps
  • Interpret reversal days
  • Discuss the major aspects of Elliot wave
