Are you looking to provide learning programs to help members of your group to satisfy their CPE requirements before year-end?

As a NASBA certified provider, GFMI often gets requests during Q4, (more so, even during December!) to assist clients with Instructor Led Training (ILT) programs that will not only provide for 7 or more CPE credits, but to enrich and update knowledge and skills for their employees.

  • Measure capital from the economic, statutory and GAAP perspective

Ken KapnerFASB Attempts to Reduce Confusion

Have you ever been confused with all of the FAS, FINs, EITFs, DIGs and amendments to another FAS? I know I have! FASB has attempted to reduce the confusion through FASB Accounting Standards Codification™. In their Notice to Constituents FASB states that their three primary goals are:

  1. Simplify user access by codifying all authoritative US GAAP in one spot.
  2. Ensure that the codified content accurately represented authoritative US GAAP as of July 1, 2009.
  3. Create a codification research system that is up-to-date for the released results of standard-setting activity.

The research system allows the end user to find all the related information in one source.

FASB Accounting Standards Codification™ is the single source of authoritative nongovernmental U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

FASB offers a resource page on their web site, click here. And a free tutorial, click here.
