ISMA is the self-regulatory organization and trade association for the international securities market. For banks and securities houses around the world, ISMA oversees the efficient functioning of the market through the implementation and enforcement of a self-regulatory code covering trading, settlement and good market practice.

ISMA sponsors and provides training for the International Fixed Income and Derivatives Program (IFID) formerly known as the General Certificate Program or GCP. Students from all over the globe participate in this program. The IFID Program is recommended for traders and salespersons within their first two years in the industry, but is also open to anyone who would benefit from a more detailed knowledge of the market than they currently possess.

GFMI offers instructor led training for the IFID certificate examination, tailored to the specific areas of student interest. GFMI also offers a browser-based e-learning package for self-study purposes. In conjunction with Chisholmroth, GFMI offers Magellan On-Line Learning, which is specifically designed to train the student for the IFID examination as well as a variety of other topics.
